The 2007 model year witnessed the roll out of the Audi RS 4 sports sedan by Audi’s performance division, Quattro GmbH. Inherently, the RS 4 is an expatiated version of Audi’s S4, but a game of Spot the Difference could leave you baffled because essentially, the two sedans differ only in their technical aspects. More like the difference between the quick and the quicker.

The RS 4 is one of the most fabulous high performance cars from the house of Audi. It has an advanced 4.3 litres V8 fsi fuel injected engine producing a mammoth 430 bhp, 420Nm torque and 0 100kmph in a stunning 4.8 seconds. Its luxurious enhancements include an aggressive exterior styling, 6 speed manual transmission with an impressive dual zone front and rear climate control. One would instantly fall in love with its lush interiors that include heated leather seats, 10 speaker AM/FM CD stereo with Satellite and MP3 capability and front and side seat mounted airbags with occupancy sensors.

Other features include DRC (Dynamic Ride Control) with characteristic suspension tuning, refined all wheel drive components, more efficacious brake system with special 19 inch wheels and high performance tires.

Unquestionably enhancing performance is the Dynamic Ride Control system. The obliquely opposite front and rear dampers are linked with a gas charged reservoir by the DRC to permit more acquiescence when the front and rear dampers are simultaneously compressed, assuring a delightful highway ride with least possible compromise during performance driving. Moreover, the Audi RS 4’s handling is nearly flawless, with the sort of extreme fortitude that remains unflinching no matter what.

The cabin of this beauty from Audi places a spotlight on clean lines. Though there is the indispensible svelte leather, lushness isn’t the mainstay; rather, the car’s interior designers have played down the lap of luxury and emphasized on sleekness which gives the RS 4 a polished and aesthetic look. The feel good heated leather seats offer comforts at the highest level that make you feel at heaven. The most enthralling feature is the excellent all wheel drive system traction, even in wet conditions, thereby providing an unflustered feel in spite of the brutal acceleration. In gear performance is stupendous and the all new upgraded V8 unit will blare all the way up to 8250rpm.

Although the Audi RS 4 has a lot of positives, there are also some downsides like any other car which rolls out year after year. The RS 4’s dense design adds proficiency, but this 4 seater sedan is more like a 2 seater for which the designers deserve a slap on the wrist. The rear seats have been treated with complete bias when compared to the front as they seem to be somewhat cramped. And then there is its price. This Sports sedan from Audi costs a pretty penny but won’t dent your balance sheets much.

But don’t let all this stop you because, on the whole, the Audi RS 4 deservingly defines the word “performance” without any clamor. Features are well worth every penny you spend on this awesome machine.
